Alicia Ross is a dance artist, choreographer, and administrator based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is the Founder and Director of Fem Dance Company, a professional contemporary dance company focused on representing and empowering all women in dance. She has performed and choreographed work with the company for the past 3 years, collaborating with artists such as Kaley Pruitt and Stephanie Garcia. Her latest choreographic ensemble work, entitled “Hear Her,” premiered as an evening-length production at the Regent Street Black Box Theater and was honored by The Utah Review as “an enlightening, sensitively structured choreographic contemplation” that spoke to the power and truth of the Me Too Movement. Alicia has also presented with TEDxSaltLakeCity on the art of Screendance, performed for loveDANCEmore in collaboration with Jessica Baynes, and she has been featured in articles by Canvas Rebel and Voyage Utah. She previously danced with Wasatch Contemporary Dance Company and Repertory Dance Theatre in their Emerge series. She holds a BFA in Modern Dance from the University of Utah where she was named the 2020 College of Fine Arts Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher of the Year. She is also a 200 hour certified yoga instructor through Inbody Academy. Alicia’s artistic work reflects on the incredible and vulnerable human experience, and strives to produce inspiration through all forms of movement and performance.
