V Cangelosi (she/they) is from Centreville, Virginia, and has studied Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Heels, Hip Hop, Modern, Partner Improvisation, and Tap. V trained as a student at Centreville Dance Academy and Fairfax Academy for Communications and the Arts. They graduated from Shenandoah Conservatory in 2022 with a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography. During their time at Shenandoah, they earned multiple scholarships and an Outstanding Choreography and Performance award for their Capstone pieces. They also performed works from Daniel Padierna, Matt Pardo, and Tiffanie Carson, as well as guest artists Casey Noblett, Contra Tiempo, Ginger Cox, Sidra Bell, and Yoshito Sakuraba.
V is a company dancer with MotionX Dance Co. directed by Stephanie Dorrycott. She is also a guest dancer with Conflux Dance Theater, directed by Miguel Perez, and a member of the Polymath Performance Project, directed by Charlie Maybee. She has performed with Dogwood Dance Project, where she was featured in works by Hailey Clevenger, Mary Manzari, and Robert Rubama. She has also performed in the 2024 Virginia Lottery “Shine On” commercial, choreographed by Travis Wall.
V also explores their own artistry through a project called The Experiment, a multidisciplinary work testing the crossroads of tap dance and live music performance. The second version of the piece was most recently performed at the 2025 Transformations Dance Festival.
V has led weekly classes for multiple studios throughout their teaching career and masterclasses with several schools, including the Institute for Dance in Williamsburg and the Henrico Center for the Arts. She is currently an instructor and choreographer with Centreville Dance Academy. She is also a graduate student at George Mason University, pursuing a Master’s degree in Arts Management.
