Mateo Tirres is a third-year student at the Juilliard School pursuing a BFA in Dance. Mateo
graduated from the Chicago Academy for the Arts in May 2023. He has also been a member of
the Evanston Dance Ensemble, and a solo and guest artist for various productions. Mateo is
actively pursuing a career as a choreographer, producing 10 new works for the Juilliard
choreographic workshops and premiering his work at different venues around NYC. Mateo’s
recent works have explored a range of themes, from a dance adaptation of the play Waiting for
Godot, to a composed improvisation, to a critique of religious power. Mateo aims to provide
opportunities for imaginative engagement through dance to a wide and diverse range of
audiences throughout his career.
