Mateo Tirres – Dale Play

Mateo Tirres is a second-year student at the Juilliard School pursuing a BFA in Dance. Mateo graduated from the Chicago Academy for the Arts in May 2023 and studied at Dance Center Evanston before that. As a choreographer, Mateo has been commissioned by the Midwest Cecchetti Council of America, and by Charles Neidich for the Juilliard Faculty Concert. Mateo’s choreographic work Now You See Me was featured in the 2023 Chicago Academy for the Arts Spring Concert, alongside the work of professional choreographers. Mateo’s choreographic work Holy Mess was selected for the 2024 Juilliard Choreographic Honors Showcase and was chosen as a finalist for the Artist’s Forum’s Choreographic Competition. Mateo has choreographed seven additional works in various venues and aspires to reach audiences worldwide. Mateo aims to create art that evokes curiosity, allowing people to find resonance in ambiguous places.
