Mateo Tirres is a fourth-year student at the Juilliard School pursuing a BFA in Dance. Mateo graduated from the Chicago Academy for the Arts in May 2023 and studied at Dance Center Evanston before that. At Juilliard, he has performed works by Aszure Barton, Merce Cunningham, My’kal Stromile, among others. Tirres has also attended summer programs at Hubbard Street, Jacob’s Pillow, Orsolina 028, Ballet BC, and Henny Jurriëns Studio. Alongside performing, Tirres is deeply passionate about choreography. He was selected as a choreographer for Juilliard’s Choreographers & Composers and this year’s Senior Production. His work has also been recognized through Juilliard’s Choreographic Honors in 2024, and 2026, and The Artist’s Forum in 2024. Tirres presented his work De Todas Las Flores at Small Plates Newburgh in 2024 and is excited to be back!
