Jennifer Williams is a dancer and choreographer with a deep passion for movement and self-expression. She hails from Texas and holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Dance Performance and Choreography from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Throughout her career, Jennifer has had the opportunity to perform with various choreographers and dance companies across the United States, from Hawaii to New York. She has also been involved in reconstructions of renowned choreographer Paul Taylor’s works and has performed in original pieces choreographed by Keiko Fujii.
Under the guidance of choreographer Gregg Lizenbery, Jennifer ventured into musical theater performing in Oklahoma at Palikū Theatre, South Pacific, and The King and I starring Richard Chamberlain and Tony Award nominee and television actress Jan Maxwell with the Hawaii Opera Theatre. Her credits also include a dance film “Touching the Tide” directed by Stephanie Gumpel and cinematographer Adam Suschitzky.
Jennifer’s artistic endeavors are fueled by her passion for cultural diversity, human rights, and social justice. She draws inspiration from these areas to create impactful choreography. In her pursuit of further knowledge and skills, she recently completed a Master’s in Social Work (MSW) and is currently a data and program analyst where she advocates for consumer rights in healthcare across the country.
Currently based in Austin, Texas, Jennifer serves as the Vice President of the board for the Kathy Dunn Hamrick Dance Company, Co-Producer for Austin’s Dance on Film, and a member of the Haven Movement Company.
