Laura Katz Rizzo is a dance artist, teacher and scholar. She is an Assistant Professor in Temple University’s Department of Dance. She holds a BA in History and English, an Ed. M. in Dance, and a Ph. D. in Dance and Women’s Studies. She has performed with several ballet and contemporary dance companies, as well as in the capacity of an independent performer and choreographer. She is an ABT Certified teacher and author of “Dancing The Fairy Tale: Performing and Producing The Sleeping Beauty,” among other publications. Her passion lies in exploring ballet as a language for articulating a powerful personal voice.
