Nattie Trogdon is a performer, educator, and dance-maker. Born and raised in North Carolina, she attended the high school program at the University of the North Carolina School of the Arts, where she studied in both the ballet and modern departments. After graduating from SUNY Purchase with BFA in dance and honors, she was selected to perform and show work in Taipei, Taiwan as part of the 2012 Global Dance Summit.
As a freelance artist based in NYC, she has had the pleasure of working for David Dorfman, Doug Varone, Kendra Portier, Elizabeth Dishman, Annie Kloppenberg, Nelly Van Bommel, Mark Dendy, and Oliver Steele. As an educator she has been on faculty at Purchase College, The Dace Complex (MA) and Gibney Dance Center teaching contemporary forms, improvisation and partnering classes. Her choreographic work has been presented at various NY venues including Dixon Place, Triskelion Arts, Skidmore College, Mark Morris Dance Center and at Gibney Dance Center.
