
Mariah Eastman graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2017 and has performed in student works by Morgahn Crawford, Elizabeth Galyean, Samantha Nelson, Rachel Rinehart, and Kara Robertson at VCU. She has also performed in faculty pieces by Martha Curtis and Courtney Harris. Mariah has attended Bates Dance Festival, Christopher K Morgan & Artists, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance as well as ArcDanz – Mexico for her summer education.
At ArcDanz in Cholula, Mexico, she had the opportunity perform in a newly choreographed work by Angel Arambula and a “Minievent” with choreography by Merce Cunningham and staged by Andrea Weber, formerly of the Merce Cunningham Company.
Mariah’s choreography has been performed in VCU’s Salon performances in 2013(Untitled) and 2015 (The Interview) as well as in VCU’s Student Concert: PathFinders in 2015 (Deconstruction). Her choreographic work The Interview was also presented in VCU’s Take Back the Night. She’s also had choreography in VCU’s emerge. (Typeface) and in PathFinders 2017 (Stop, Drop, Hi!).
Mariah danced in Chicago Danztheatre Ensemble’s production of A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer this past February. She has also presented work at j e l l o: Let’s Get Technical and self-produced an Informal Showcase at Dovetail Studios. Mariah also got an opportunity to participate as a choreographer in 1 Hour Project by Project Bound Dance.
