Kavya Mathukumalli and Preeti Krishnamani –Silambam Houston

Kavya Mathukumalli and Preeti Krishnamani are accomplished dancers from Silambam Houston, where they trained extensively under the guidance of their gurus. Their passion for art form was ignited at a young age, and over the years, both have become integral to Silambam’s Kuchipudi legacy. Preeti currently serves as the Kuchipudi Program Director at Silambam Houston, mentoring young dancers and shaping their future. With a deep commitment to their craft, Kavya and Preeti continue to choreograph original works and share their vibrant dance narratives on stages—keeping tradition alive while adding their unique voices to the classical landscape.

Silambam Houston, established in 2002 by Dr. Lavanya Rajagopalan, is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and evolution of the Indian classical arts. Founded with a vision to provide high-quality artistic education and foster emerging talent, Silambam Houston has grown into the premier Indian arts institution in the Greater Houston area.
