Founded in 2011 by two Dance/Movement Therapists, SolesBare Dance Collective is a bi-coastal dance company that endeavors to create works of art, using movement as the primary medium, to raise awareness and start conversations around subjects that we, as humans, tend to avoid. Through soul and purpose they strive to elicit organic and authentic movement that “speaks” to topics in a way that is accessible to all. In addition to concerts, benefit performances, and collaborative works, SBDC has also brought these ideals to teens in outreach programs throughout the Hudson Valley where they utilize movement as a means for advocacy and to give voice to those who feel they have none. SBDC is very excited to, once again, be a part of Small Plates and to share their recent work.
