Beth McKee Elliott, a lifelong dancer and choreographer, holds an MFA in Dance from the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa (UHM), and is a Certified Movement Analyst (CMA), a dance photographer, and a somatic healer in private practice. She has studied, taught, performed, choreographed, and presented dance all over the United States for over 30 years.
Beth has developed an extensive repertoire of enduring, iconic works that have been performed at notable venues locally and nationally, and a process for rapid movement invention she calls Mosaic choreography. She has been recognized for excellence in choreography by Regional Dance America, having been selected twice as a Project Tier choreographer. She also received the the Carl Wolz Award for Choreography while attending UHM.
Beth is eternally dedicated to the art and craft of choreography, and to creating opportunities for dancers and choreographers to present their creative work by teaching, mentoring, and producing events that showcase choreography. She created the Small Plates Choreography Festival in 2012 to serve this mission.
After moving to Newburgh, NY in 2016, she dissolved her namesake performing ensemble, Beth Elliott Dance Group, and founded Haven Movement Company with good friends Michele Painter and Sarah Renny. Beth curates the dance stage at the annual Newburgh Illuminated Festival.
