Paige Nelson is a native of Los Angeles, California where she started dancing at the age of three. She trained at a local studio where she studied a wide variety of dance. After graduating from high school, Paige moved across the country to New York to continue her training in the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase. During her time here, she has been fortunate enough to perform with Purchase Dance Company in works by Tom Weinberger, Merce Cunningham, Nejla Yatkin and Rena Butler. Additionally, Paige performed a new work for her senior project, choreographed by Bret Easterling, a former Batsheva dancer. In addition to Paige’s yearly training, she has also attended numerous summer programs that include Jacob’s Pillow Gaga Program, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, BalletX, Axis Connect, Dance Italia, Alonzo King Lines Ballet, and many more. Paige has also worked very closely with JUNTOS Collective, a non-profit organization that uses dance to create intercultural exchange in underprivileged communities. Paige is anticipated to graduate from the Conservatory of Dance at SUNY Purchase in May of 2019, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance, and a concentration in composition.
