Michelle Isaac, Co-Founder of Ntrinsik Movement, was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She began dancing at the age of 4 in church, and started formal training in high school at Susan S McKinney Secondary School of the Arts. She later received her BFA in Dance from LIU Post. Shortly after graduation she performed in Tamara LaDonna’s Moving Spirits Inc. as a company dancer and completed a choreography residency with Judah International Dance Theatre. She also performed alongside extremely talented dancers in Fritzlyn Hector’s Artist Ensemble. Aside from performing and choreographing, Michelle is currently a dance teacher for Success Academy and is pursuing her Masters of Art in Dance Education at Hunter College. She is thankful to God, her family, close friends, and mentors for the constant support and love throughout her artistic endeavors, and she is excited to see the progression of Ntrinsik Movement.
Ntrinsik Movement is an emerging dance company, Co-Founded in July 2014 by five dancers: Kenya Gibson, Michelle Isaac, Anastacia Julian, Freyani Patrice, and Montana Sholars. The name “Ntrinsik” is taken from the word “Intrinsic” meaning “movement that comes from within.” Ntrinsik has performed in various theaters such as Symphony Space, The Ailey Citigroup Theater, Kumble Theater for the Performing Arts, Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance and several others.
Ntrinsik believes in and practices the diversity of dance, blending various dance styles such as Afro-Modern, Contemporary Ballet, and Jazz to create and produce original works. Their zeal for the performing arts is showcased through their performance, choreography, instruction, and service to the community. Despite their keen differences as dancers, they are united and defined as a company through the illuminating, forever burning passion for dance that lies within each of them.
